Omvejene (Detours)
Omvejene was an experimental, pedal-driven documentary that explored the intersection of digital journalism, photography, and art. Armed with a bicycle and no fixed itinerary, I spent nearly two months traveling across Denmark, crowdsourcing my route by simply asking: "Where should I go? Who should I meet?".
Inspired by Jacob Holdt’s American Pictures and Denmark's traditional traveling craftsmen (navere), the journey served as an investigation into the social landscape and the divide between the city and the countryside. The title translates to "detours," reflecting the philosophy that the most compelling stories rarely lie on the straightest path.
The project ultimately unfolded as a dynamic narrative told through a dedicated photo series, live social media dispatches, and public lectures.
